We feel this is the premier wood based heat log on the market for Western Canada and the USA. These logs have been in production since 1925 and are a solid proven performer. Very high user satisfaction and economy.

The fiber content is top notch, it is made from the best Fir and Larch shavings. These two wood species have very high lignin content which enable the logs to packed into such a heavy and dense log. At about 8 lbs each they are the largest briquette bio fuel logs available. Most others are between 3 and 5 lbs.

The lignin also contributes to the higher BTU value. Most other compressed logs are made form lower quality, low lignin based fiber like pine and spruce and cannot reach the heat output and long burn time the Energy Logs produce. Very little ash, creosote and virtually smokeless when burning is an important factor to keep in mind. The biggest advantage after the high heat output is the fact that you can load your stove with 2-3 logs late in the evening and they will burn all night and you will have a hot stove in the morning...try that with regular firewood, even birch firewood will not last past about 3-5 hours in ideal circumstances. Not having to get up in the middle of the night ever again has been the single biggest factor that converted most of my Energy logs Log users from firewood. Most clients still use both firewood and E-Logs for ascetic reasons, but many are now 100% E-Log fanatics.

We find that the burn time actually exceeds the companies claim of 5-6 hours. Many newer high efficiency stoves/fireplaces will get up to 10 hours.
